Some Plants Simply Defy a Name Most collectors spend a great amount of time trying to track down the name of one or more plants in their collection. So far, trying to find one for Anthurium Code 15 is a hopeless search. Some species simply deny you the pleasure of knowing a botanical name. Anthurium Code 15 (that identification comes from an Ecuadorian collector and exporter of rare specimens) is one that has not allowed me, or anyone else, to find a nomenclature. It doesn't have one. Yet. I ran across a photo of this beautiful arrow shaped plant on the internet and like so many plants I now possess I started on an adventure to find one. But how do you locate something when you don't know the name of what you're trying to find? It was a dilemma. But as they say, it's not "what" you know, it's "who" you know. And I know a few "who's" when it comes to plants including one who led me to Ecuagenera, a rare plant grower in the Andes Mountains of Ecuador. And there on their plant racks was Anthurium Code 15, the name Ecuagenera has assigned to the name-less species. The plant has moderately coriacious (leather-like) leaves. It loves high humidity, light breezes, moderate shade and cool temperatures. It is reported to have been collected near Maldonado in the Carchi province of Ecuador at an elevations of approximately 1500 meters (approximately 4600 feet) up in the Andes Mountains. We have no idea how large it will grow. I do know the veins will become more prominent as the plant grows. And I know it doesn't have a name. Yet.
